MORECAMBE WESTGATE

0-2's AREA

Our 0-2’s area is a lovely, bright, and open area, catering for up to 12 children per session, aged birth to 2 years. The 0-2’s children have access to their own outdoor space to explore and a dedicated sleep area with 2 cots, sleep mats and an additional travel cot if needed. We have a dedicated team of staff, all experienced in providing care for the youngest children at a minimum ratio of 1:3. Children experience a range of planned and free choice activities and have access to external activities through the visiting Hartbeeps classes.

The room has a dedicated changing area for children and they have access to small sinks and a toilet to support toilet training and personal health & self-care skills. Nappy change facilities are also available for those children not yet toileting.

2-3's AREA

Our 2-3’s area is in the heart of the nursery. This airy, bright space caters for up to 16 children per session, with funded sessions available to families by eligibility. Children have access to a large outdoor area which they share with our preschool children. They also have regular access to our nature garden area. We have a dedicated team of staff, providing childcare at a minimum ratio of 1:4.

Children experience a range of planned and free choice activities and have access to external activities through the visiting Hartbeeps classes. Sleep mats are provided for any children who require rest during the session. The children have access to small sinks and toilets to support toilet training and personal health & self-care skills.

PRESCHOOL AREA

Our large, bright and airy Preschool area provides education and childcare on a minimum ratio of 1:8 for up to 32 children per session. Funded sessions are available for all children in the term following their 3^rd birthday.

Our dedicated preschool team provide a range of planned and free choice activities, to support children in developing their school readiness skills in preparation to move on to full time education. Children have visiting educational provision throughout the year, including weekly visits from Hartbeeps and Yogabears, promoting language skills, personal and social development and support their emotional wellbeing.

In addition to the indoor environment, children also have access to a large outdoor area and nature garden, which they share with our younger 2-3’s children. Just off the main room the children have access to small sinks and toilets to support toilet training and personal health & self-care skills. Nappy change facilities are also available for those children not yet toileting.
